Removal Of Barriers

As the most curious of submissives, I am constantly asking questions. Usually I find the answers via several sources on the web but I recently came across a question about an order from Master that I couldn't find the answer for. So I asked... and following is what I have collected for an answer.

It has been a matter of years of tradition that slaves not wear any clothing. In our modern day society this has become a lax tradition but it still holds in formal scenes and play sessions among accepting parties. For some girls and even some boys this can be a serious play on their self conscious. However there are several reasons for this that you the reader may find more comfort in.

1. Pleasure. First and foremost the matter of the slave/sub being naked is for the Dominant's pleasure. we should take comfort in that we are pleasing them. we should consider it an honor that they wish to see us as we we came into the world. (Okay so we didn't come in a size 11-22 but hey who's marking down sizes.)
2. Submissiveness/Placement. The act of being naked aids a submissive in feeling just that... submissive. It sets you apart and states your status quite clearly. In ancient times clothing was a matter of status. A slave being the lowest on the status totem pole worn no clothing besides the adornments decided upon by the Owner. This was often just a belt engraved with the owner's name and city and a collar and cuffs.
3. Availability. The removal of clothing shows that the submissive is always available to their Dominant. This is important as it also aids in the feeling of being submissive.

But on a higher note there are several useful reasons for why Dominants choose in this day and age to keep their submissives naked at points in time.

1. Intimate Knowledge. The removal of the barrier of clothing allows for a more intimate knowledge of the submissive's feelings and reactions. Clothing can hide a blush, excitement, or even pain. If a submissive is particularly good at curbing their facial expressions this allows the Dominant to get beyond that barrier. Very helpful in my humble opinion when the Dominant truly wishes to keep the mental status of their submissive in good health.
2. Fun. You will have to agree.. clothing gets in the way of all those fun toys. You just can't experience fully the beauty of the caress of a flogger or the sting of a paddle or cane when clothed. Therefore clothing can deaden or hinder a punishment or take away from the meaning of a reward.

It took a lot of thought and my first experience (only partially naked i will admit) for me to realize the benefits of what Master commanded. I was afraid that I would be leered at or ridiculed for the shape I am in. However looking back these were petty fears and the real reason was I didn't want to step outside my comfort zone. I didn't need to worry for it was a wonderful experience. I was still treated the same without clothing as if I were wearing any and it began to feel like nothing at all had changed.

So now that I have discussed this with Master it is no longer a concern. It still does take a matter of trust and comfort before I can get over years of nervousness and lack of self confidence but this girl is at least willing to get back on that horse and try again. I also learned another important fact from my experience. It never hurts to ask as long as you ask right.
