Magic-Braid Crotchrope
by Rope Fashions
This is a fun crotchrope based on a magic braid. A magic
braid is a way of turning a single piece of rope into a
three-strand braid. In our case, we are turning a doubled
piece of rope into a six-strand braid.
When I was growing up as a young adult in the '70's,
I used to like the bondage photography John Blakemore
did: damsels in distress, tied up in basements and
garages with crotchropes tied tightly to the ceiling.
This crotchrope is a little less brutal, and has a
pleasantly wide bumpy area to provide stimulation as
she moves.
|
Step 1:
We start with a 30-foot length of rope. Double the rope, then
measure up about eight feet from the doubled end. Coil the
doubled end in a clockwise direction, so it goes under the main
rope, and so the doubled end is a couple of inches below the coil.
|
Step 2:
Take the doubled end, and bring it over the main rope, from
right to left.
|
Step 3:
Now take the leftmost rope, and cross it over the rope you
were just working with, from left to right.
|
Step 4:
Now take the rightmost rope and cross it over the one you
were just working with, from right to left.
|
Step 5:
What we are doing is a standard hair braid, so if you know how
to braid hair, you're all set. Continue braiding with the
left-over-right, right-over-left pattern.
|
Step 6:
Eventually, you will get close to the end, where you have tiny
loops in two of the ropes, and one larger loop, which is the
original doubled rope end.
|
Step 7:
Twist the two tiny loops counterclockwise (toward the big loop).
|
Step 8:
Pull the big loop through the twisted loops, and pull it snug.
To use the crotchrope, tie a rope several times around your partner's
waist. Push the loop in the crotchrope under the waist rope. Run
the long rope ends from the crotchrope through the loop along
with the braided part, and pull it snug, so it forms a lark's
head around the waist rope. Now run the braid through the crotch,
and tie the end to your support.
Have fun!
